many times, people will say “oh it’s mindset” “you are a mindset coach”. but i never resonated with it. all these years, i call the work i do “inner work” “self work”.. but never ever call it “mindset work”.
i struggle badly to explain why it is not that for the longest time and i don’t even know if i am close to articulating what i have in my head.
firstly, the definition of “mindset” differ from different sources. and if you google “mindset in psychology” you also can get something else.
from chatgpt: “A mindset is a person’s attitude, beliefs, and way of thinking about themselves and the world around them. It influences how they perceive situations, approach challenges, and make decisions.”
the reason why i don’t call my work “mindset” is because “mindset” is a results of many other things.
our attitude, beliefs and way of thinking about ourselves and the world around is a results of our past experiences, trauma, upbringing.. and many other things.
if anything, i am a “relationship” coach (not that i love the label ‘coach’, but that’s another thing for another day). i work with people to tend to their relationship with themselves, the people around.. which in turn, shift mindset.
that’s why.. it does shift the mindset, but it is not just about the mindset.
