it is not your job to meet other’s expectations of you.

it is not your job to meet other’s expectations of you.

it is your job to deal with the imaginary expectations of others that you made up in your head.

many times we think that our parents, partners, whoever has certain expectations of us. but it it not true. we imagine and made that up.

if they did communicated their expectations, and you do not agree with it, it’s not your job to meet those. if you agree, then it becomes an agreement. not expectations.

the same applies for societal expectations. “sorry this is out of my jobscope” 😂
